Tournaments provide players with the opportunity to compete against one another for prizes. Tournaments in SolForge are ongoing events without defined beginning or end times. You can enter and play your rounds at your convenience. When you choose to play a tournament round, you will be paired with another player with a similar record in their tournament – that is, if you won your first round, you will generally play against someone else who is also 1-0 in their tournament. Once you complete all of your rounds, you receive prizes based on your record.
Tournaments require an entry fee which will be listed in the details of the tournament. You can see these details by clicking ‘More Info’ on a tournament. The most common entry method is using Event Tickets. Event tickets can be purchased from the store with either Gold or Silver, or earned as a part of your Daily Rewards. Your First Online Win of the day will always reward you with an Event Ticket.
Tournaments may be 1 of 2 types; either Constructed or Draft. Details on each can be found below.
After joining a constructed tournament you can view the deck you have chosen to play by pressing the “View Deck” button on the Constructed tournament tab.
Tournament Structure: In a Heads Up Constructed tournament, you will play one round with standard time limits for each player. You can play your round at your convenience. Once you have completed your round, you will receive your prizes.
Entry Fee: 1 Event Ticket
Prizes: Once your tournament is complete, you will receive prizes based on your results:
1 Win: 7,500 SIlver and 1 Event Ticket
0 Wins: 2,500 Silver
In a Draft tournament, you will create a new deck by choosing from small groups of random cards and play against opponents who did the same. You do not use decks or cards from your current collection. You can view your draft deck for an event in progress by pressing the “View Deck” button on the Draft tournament tab.
All cards you select in a Draft are added to your collection.
Draft Rules: In a SolForge draft, you will pick cards one at a time from random selections of cards. The first selection will be six cards, each of Heroic rarity or higher. After you choose a card, you’ll receive another random grouping of five cards, followed by four cards, then three, then two, before resetting to six cards again.
The factions of the cards you choose determine the factions of the cards you’ll see in the draft. Once you select cards of two different factions, you will only be shown cards from those factions for the remainder of the draft to select from.
Unlike in Constructed, there is no limit to the number of copies of a particular card you can play. If you manage to draft four or more copies of a single card, you will be able to play with all of them in your draft deck.
Tournament Structure: You will draft your deck for the event, and then play rounds with standard time limits. You can play your rounds at your convenience. When you do, you will be paired with another player in the tournament queue at a similar place in their draft tournament. Once you have won seven or lost two games, you will receive your prizes.
Entry Fee: 4 Event Tickets, or a Competitive Draft Coupon.
Prizes: Once your tournament is complete, you will receive prizes based on your results, in addition to the 30 cards that were added to your collection at the time you drafted them:
