Forgewatch.com in cooperation with Stoneblade Entertainment is proud to present a Set 1 Team Tournament! (Yiannisph and Foxhull will be the primary TOs for this event.)
Time: Monday, October 14 at 9:00pm US East Coast Time (1:00am Tuesday UTC).
PLEASE READ SIGN-UP IN ITS ENTIRETY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SUBMISSIONS ARE COMPLETELY ACCURATE.
Sign-Up: It sign up for the event, players must email their decklists to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 4 hours before the tournament starts. Signups will close at that point: anyone who fails to submit a decklist on time will not be included in the tournament field. Decklists will subsequently be made public on the SolForge Forums.
-- Decks should be submitted in Text format, NOT by screenshot. You MUST include your SolForge ID with your Deck submission, or it is not valid. Non-legal decks (e.g. wrong number of cards) may be rejected at TO discretion.
TEAMS SUBMIT DECKLISTS TOGETHER – EXAMPLE BELOW:
Team (Name) – (Team Captain's Name)
Player (A) – Standard
Player (B) – Unheroic
Player (C) – Pauper
TEAM CAPTAINS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING RESULTS AND COMMUNICATING WITH THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS.
All players must also either sign into the Steam SolForge Tournaments Community Group Chat during the tournament (instructions below on accessing this) OR provide an email address where they can be reached for private communications during the tournament. Anyone who fails to log on to that particular Steam Group Chat or to provide an email address will be dropped from the tournament. Failure to respond to private TO communications during the tournament could have serious negative ramifications during the tournament--so please pay attention.
STEAM USERS: Please note that this is a different channel than the SolForge Community Group! We strongly encourage you to "Friend" Yiannisph and Foxhull before the tournament begins, to facilitate private communication through Steam. (Please do not be offended if the TO "un-friends" you after the event is over.)
During the Tournament, we will create and maintain an “Announcements and Results” thread on these forums. The start of new rounds, and other important information will be announced there and there alone. We strongly urge you to “Watch” or “Subscribe” to that thread once it is created.
- In the Announcements thread we will post a link to a tournament bracket for use during the tournament; players are responsible for watching that bracket for results and match-ups.
iPad Players: Please note that while we want to encourage all players to participate, technical difficulties on the iPad version have forced some players to withdraw early from previous tournaments. Please be aware that you may be dropped if your client proves too unstable or you are unable to access the forums during your games.
PRIMARY GOAL: Please Note that our main goal is to ensure a fun tournament for as many players as possible, and all subsequent rules will be enforced with that broader goal in mind.
DECKS: This is a Team Tournament: each team must submit one deck of each of the following formats:
Standard – any deck you can build on your client.
Unheroic – Commons and Rares only.
Pauper – Commons only.
Each team must submit their decks together.
FORMAT: This tournament will be a Swiss event with a number of rounds and cut to be determined, based on attendance. Each Swiss round will be a single game (i.e., "Best of 1"). The first team to win 2 of the 3 games wins the match. The cut will then be asked to participate in a "Best of 3" Single Elimination Tournament to determine the winners. For the Swiss Rounds, players will be given 30 mins to complete their matches.
TEAM COMMUNICATION: As this is a team event, teammates are encouraged to communicate during games and may discuss plays. However, this should not cause games to drag on. Remember that rounds have a time limit.
CHEATING: Stoneblade logs all games. If any player is found cheating, Forge Watch and Stoneblade reserve the right to ban that player from future organized play events or even suspend/ban the cheater’s account.
- If you suspect your opponent of cheating, please provide whatever evidence you have to a TO immediately using a private form communication: DO NOT publicly accuse your opponent. We will handle the matter privately.
TARDINESS and AFK: The tournament will start promptly at the above mentioned time. At the beginning of the tournament, players have 5 mins to respond to challenges and start their games; anyone who fails to do so will be considered “tardy” and will automatically earn a loss in that game for the match. A subsequent 5-minute period will be granted for the following game(s). Players who subsequently fail to communicate with a TO during a match within 10 minutes after an "AFK check" will be considered inappropriately AFK and may be dropped from the tournament.
– Players will be notified on the Announcements Thread when they have received such a loss, and will be told there the time limit for contacting a TO.
– If you need to go AFK but will be back for the subsequent round, this may be allowed at TO discretion; please notify a TO before leaving.
– Players who are tardy in back-to-back rounds may be automatically dropped from the tournament.
– Any game that starts after the 5 min mark may be considered unofficial, at TO discretion.
BUGS: and other technical difficulties will be handled on a case-by-case basis; the Tournament Organizers reserve the right to declare a winner (or tie) in any match if such issues have delayed a game unreasonably.
TIE BREAKERS: Ties will be broken based on opponents’ win totals. The highest and lowest opponent win-totals will be dropped, and the rest will be summed. Byes are considered a win against a 1-win opponent.
PRIZES: Prizes are dependent on the number of teams that sign up, so make sure to sign up early and spread the word!
STEAM CHAT: During the tournament, we expect the Steam chat room to remain civil and productive. Please keep non-tournament related chatter to a minimum or take conversations to the SolForge Community Group. The TOs reserve the right to kick from the tournament anyone who we feel is being disruptive. Extremely offensive comments (such as the use of racial, gender-biased, or homophobic slurs) may get the offender banned from future tournaments as well, at TO discretion.
If there are any other questions or matters of concern, please post them below or contact Noetherian or Racecar0 via Forum PM.
Instructions for Accessing the Steam SolForge Tournaments Community Group (SF Tournaments):
open your Steam Client
- go to the SolForge Store Page
- click on "Find Community Groups" (in small text on the right)
- click "SolForge Tournament Group (SFTournaments)".
- Click "Enter Chat Room"
At Step 4 you can also “Join” this group; if you do so, the group will be accessible directly from your Steam Friends List.
You may provide me an email address for point-to-point communication if you can't/don't want to log into Steam. We just need a way to quickly and reliably contact people privately if something goes wrong. You should able able to send and receive email on your iPad, and even set it up to ping you when you get a new message during the tournament. Otherwise, you just have to be able to monitor the forums from your browser. If you cannot reliably access your browser during the tournament, you might miss important information; please take this into account before signing up.
We understand that forum posting is difficult on an iPad; if you cannot forum post, you can submit results through an email to the TOs at email@example.com
*CHEATING: Using the following known exploits will be considered as a cheating infraction and actions will be taken accordingly:

I'm going to reserve this post for posting a list of players looking for teams.
If you need teammates – post here! I'll add you to the list.
Once you have a team, let me know and I'll remove you from the list.

I should be available for unheroic (and maybe standard, but I'm not as confident there) if anyone needs another player. I could do pauper but I haven't tried it much and would need advice on deck construction from one of the veterans.
With the small cardpool, Pauper is basically "pick two factions, drop in all the good cards available, meta a bit knowing everyone else is doing this".
F2P? P2W? L2P!

Unfortunately, Monday evenings are an absolutely terrible time for me. I won't be offended if you find another player for the team, jmo. Clearly, the only requirement is that the new player's name start with an X.
But time flows like a river... and history repeats...

Looking for a team as well. I have some experience with Standard (Top 16 finish) or Pauper. I can take any role with some playtest practice, but prefer either Standard or Pauper. DM on Twitter @lamporium or friend me on Steam, lamporium.
Looking for dedicated, skilled players or team.
